When Final Fantasy X was announced for Ps3 and Vita, we were told that it would be getting the HD treatment. Since that time several different words have been floating around the internet as to what is being done to FFX. Some are saying it is only a HD overhauling while others are saying it is a remake of the 2001 PlayStation 2 game. With so many words being connected to Final Fantasy X, such as remaster and remake, there’s a lot of confusion. Shinji Hashimoto, producer and employee of Square Enix, has been approached and asked about Final Fantasy X’s true fate and has stated that it is a remaster of the original game, meaning that the graphics are getting the HD treatment, nothing more. There won’t be a change in the voice acting, how battles are fought or changes to the story; Final Fantasy X will be a HD remaster. This most likely means that Final Fantasy X will get an overhaul in the HD department like the original Halo did with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition.
Not much is truly known about this Final Fantasy X remaster since the first announcement of the game last year, however with gaming conventions on the horizon, we might have clearer details soon and perhaps a solid release date.
