This past Friday Universal announced the next in their most successful franchise, Fast and the Furious, will hit theaters May 24th, 2013. The news broke last week at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas when Universal showed off a Fast and Furious 6 poster.
Straight from Universal, Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel will be producing the film, and of course, with the successes of his previous track record helming the series, Justin Lin is returning to direct. It was reported long ago that Chris Morgan, writer of Fast Five, would also be writing the 6th episode in the street racing saga. As for starring in the film, naturally, expect to see Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and newcomer Dwayne Johnson all return.
With the franchise pulling in billions of dollars, with Fast Five making $600 million alone, it’s not a surprise to anyone how soon they are looking to put out the 6th episode. Do you guys feel that this is too soon? Let us know in the comments.
