Edward Kramer used to be known only as a co-founder of DragonCon, but he will now be known for a much darker past.
Well this was unexpected! Kramer was arrested last Saturday for several child molestation charges going back to 2000. District Attorney Danny Porter states that there is evidence that Kramer used the convention to meet the first of his alleged victims. Porter alleges that Kramer would become involved with single mothers and then take advantage of their sons.
Apparently Kramer has been facing legal hearings for years now, but was out on bond and allowed travel for medical treatments. He had been out of jail for 15 months but just lost his final appeal with the Connecticut Supreme Court.
Porter is certain that there are more victims waiting to come forward and, based on the fact that Kramer was found in a hotel room with a 14-year-old in 2011, that is probably the unfortunate truth. Porter hopes to get the case back on the docket by the end of the week
Hopefully, this all goes smoothly and no one else has to be a victim.
