Dark Souls 2 Coming to Xbox One and PS4 2015

All of you (now current-gen) console owners who thought you’d escaped the suffering of From Software’s Dark Souls II had better think again as Namco Bandai announced that the treacherous RPG series would be coming to the latest console generation in 2015.

This re-release of Dark Souls II is dubbed the Scholar of the First Sinand whether it be coincidence or not, the game releases only a week after Sony’s exclusive Souls-esque I.P Bloodborne (also developed by From Software).

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions may not be receiving the updated visuals nor in the increased multiplayer count, but they’ll be receiving the new content, gameplay tweaks and DLC currently released for the game. Those of you who purchased the original Dark Souls II on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 will the new content and game play improvements in the form a free updated labeled 1.10.

However in a strange move by Namco Bandai both Dark Souls II and Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin will continue to exist as separate entities on PC, both available for purchase separately.

Whether an updated version of From Software’s punishing Action-RPG is reason enough to return to the punishing world of Dark Souls II remains to be seen, but be sure to check back for our final verdict when the game is released April 3rd.
