CTA Digital announces new PS3 Assault Rifle peripheral

First person shooter fans have a new toy to play with, as CTA Digital announced the availability of its new Assault Rifle peripheral.

The accessory gives users a new way to play their favorite FPS titles by allowing them to use the device with both traditional PS3 games and Move-enabled titles.

Assault Rifle users can deploy the device as a replacement for the standard PS3 controller by using the rifle’s specially designed buttons. Various triggers and switches logically place all of the standard PS3 controller buttons on the rifle, letting users to strafe, walk, aim and fire with precision. The device also includes rumbling and built-in speakers, adding a sense of immersion to the overall experience.

“The threat-level becomes more realistic; which bumps up the thrill of making a target hit,” said retired Lt. Col. Edward H. Minchin. “I am the Mission Coordinator Supervisor for the premier East Coast Joint Use range and a Retired USMC Lt Col. My 16-year-old son is not only an avid gamer, but also a skilled hunter, as am I. The instinct for accuracy in aim just naturally kicks in for us when we have the gun in our hands.”

CTA Digital’s Assault Rifle is currently available. For a taste of how it looks in action, check out the video below.
