CES 2014 | Valve Confirms Steam Machine Lineup, Prices

As we told you earlier today, Valve has confirmed over a dozen official partners to make their Steam Machine console/PC hybrid gaming machines. Valve made the announcement at a special press conference at CES 2014, detailing their attempt to move into the living room and hopefully steal some of the thunder from console makers, including pricing and specs for every model (except for Alienware). Unfortunately for those hoping that Valve‘s entries would be close to the prices of consoles, for the most part that’s not going to happen, with prices ranging from $500 for the CyberPower PC model to more than $2,500 with Digital Storm’s Bolt II Steam Machine.

Each comes with USB 3.0, WiFi, Bluetooth, the Steam Controller, and the Steam OS operating system. Where they all seem to differ is on processors and graphic cards. Obviously the biggest draw is Valve’s Steam service, which means that unlike consoles, a person who buys a Steam Machine has a launch lineup of thousands of games at their disposal, many of which sell for much less than their console counterparts.

Take a look at the gallery below, and let us know whether or not you’ll be picking up a Steam Machine of your own when they hit shelves later this year!
