CES 2014 | Toshiba Announces Magnificent 13" Chromebook

Surpassing all expectations, the newest Chromebook should currently be at the very top of your list for tech in 2014.

It seems Toshiba have endeavored to start 2014 with a bang, and have achieved no less than that with the release of their new Chromebook; successfully raising the bar even higher for competitors. What’s exciting about this Chromebook is that this is the first Toshiba has released. Whilst other companies, like Acer and Dell, have been releasing Chromebooks for quite some time now, with Toshiba now entering the game, there’s going to be competition. We all know what that means. These companies will be pushing the boundaries, constantly releasing new technology, and continually changing the game.

Has Toshiba entered the game in style?

Weighing in at 3.3 pounds, 0.8 inches thick with a 13 inch display, there’s a lot this Chromebook has to offer. This is the first Chromebook with this size display, most Chromebooks are 11 inches, although there have been a few released which have been 14. With 16GB of SSD Storage, 100GB of Google cloud storage, 2GB of RAM and an 1366×768 native resolution, it is said to have a nine hour battery life, something Toshiba promised. Using Chrome OS, it is powered by an Intell Haswell Chip. Whilst you need WiFi to access the good stuff, this Chromebook doesn’t have much to offer if you don’t have internet access.

But hey, when this Chromebook is under $300, priced at $279, Toshiba has left little to be desired. Set to be released on February 16th, make sure this is something you keep your eye on.
