Team NINJA, developers of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, have announced PlayStation Vita versions of Dead or Alive 5 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.Both titles will have the subtitle of ‘Plus’ added on to the end of their Vita versions.
Dead or Alive 5 Plus will be tailored to work specifically with the Vita and the controls it has to offer that are not available on consoles. Tapping, swiping, and pinching on an opponent will yield different attacks and combos. It’s also been revealed that DoA5 Plus will include a first person mode by using the Sixaxis sensor in the Vita.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus will include different modes and will use the touch screen and rear touch pad for combat, as well as the motion sensor controls. Two of the new modes in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus are ‘Ninja Race’ and ‘Tag Mission’. In Ninja Race, players will race against enemies to reach a goal, or finish line. And Tag Mission will let players alternate between two heroes as the player defends an AI-Controlled partner.
Team NINJA leader, Yosuke Hayashi, said the following about the two Vita versions of their games.
Whether unleashing martial arts moves or striking down enemies as a deadly ninja, players will discover that handheld gaming has never looked—or played—better.
Both games are scheduled to ship in the first quarter of 2013. Team NINJA will release more information about the games as we get closer to the release date in the coming months.
