Majesco Entertainment has launched the latest installment of the best selling fitness video game franchise of 2011, Zumba® Fitness Rush, exclusively on Kinect for Xbox 360 this week.
Founded in 2001 by Zumba Fitness LLC, Zumba® is known for blending international dance moves with easy-to-follow choreography in a way that “disguises” effective full body conditioning as a fun and entertaining group activity, rather than the tedious set-and-rep routine of conventional weights or solo cardio.
With the motion-sensored technology of Kinect for Xbox 360, Majesco has broken Zumba® out of the boundaries of gyms where the invigorating and highly addictive workout started, and into the homes of its participants nationwide. CEO of Zumba Fitness, LLC, Alberto Perlman, explains how their “best video game to date” still encourages both in-venue and out-of-venue experiences:
”Our current video games have had great success bringing the Zumba program to many new students. One of the most innovative options featured in the game (and one of my favorites) is the built-in class locator. Those who haven’t yet experienced a live Zumba class — and are using the Rush video game at home — can actually pull up the class locator to find a live class in their area. You can go from virtual to reality just like that!”
Fans will find the title’s rich graphical and musical content to resemble the real experience thanks to full body motion tracking, three additional instructors, five new venues and ten more exclusive routines to add a wide variety to the look and feel of each exercise. A Progress Tracker keeps track of burnt calories, while tracks by artists such as Pitbull and Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls keeps you shimmying and shaking to 24 dance styles.
