Our friends over at Playstation Lifestyle are reporting that over 300,000 Playstation 3 consoles have been seized, a value of over €43 million, in the Netherlands. This comes on the heels of the stoppage of PS3 imports into the United Kingdom. The battle between technology giants Sony and LG is quickly hitting up, and as Kevin Hart said, shit’s getting real. Never before has the fate of an entire console tethered on the brink of survival and Sony is said to be facing an “uphill battle”.
As we speak, the future of Playstation 3′s in the Netherlands hangs in the balance, and with the country being Sony’s main point of import for PS3s into Europe, the outcome of a legal battle between LG and Sony affects the whole continent.
We are keeping a close watch on this, and the potential impact it could have on the United States. The court case is set for November 18th.
