Smash Bros. player, Gonzalo “Zero” Barrios, continues to plow through the 2GG Championship Series circuit after another win at 2GGC: Midwest Mayhem.
This isn’t the only time ZeRo has achieved first place at 2GGC, he also won 2GGC: Genesis Saga in January. That victory qualified him for the 2GG Championship next December. Zero has been asserting his dominance in Smash 4, and since he’s already registered in the finals this month’s auto-qualification spot is going to go to the next player at the top of the leaderboards at the end of the circuit.
ZeRo only lost three games over the duration of the whole tournament. One of those losses went to Gavin “Tweek” Dempsey during the winner’s finals, and the others went to Larry “Larry Lurr” Holland in the winner’s semi-finals.
Currently ZeRo is in first place on the leaderboard, holding 256 points. He’s followed by Komorikiri in second and Tweek third. As of right now, the top 10 players on the leader board (who aren’t currently qualified) will be qualified for the December 2017 finals.
The next in the line of 2GGC tournaments is going to be 2GGC: Civil War which is taking place on March 24.
