Amy Hennig, one of gaming’s most distinguished writers and Creative Director of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted trilogy, has jumped to EA’s Visceral Games to work on a new Star Wars project. The news broke early this morning via EA. She will be working as Creative Director on an unnamed Star Wars project at Visceral.
The team is understandably excited, as Hennig played a vital role in the success of the critically acclaimed Uncharted trilogy. Steve Papoutsis, General Manager and Vice President of Visceral Games, had this to say about Amy Hennig:
“Amy has long been recognized as one of our industry’s top visionaries, and is coming off an amazing run as the Writer and Creative Director of the Uncharted franchise. But her contributions go beyond the games she helped create at Naughty Dog and at Crystal Dynamics, where we worked together many years ago. As both a colleague and friend, I’ve always admired her approach to creative development – focusing on nailing down the soul of a game first, and then making sure the writing, the gameplay, the design and the art comes together to form a unified, interactive experience for the player.”
Visceral Games, previously EA Redwood, is most well known for the Dead Space series. Amy Hennig has worked with EA in the past as an artist, animator and director, working on games such as Desert Strike and Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City.
