Video Games Live Levels Up on Kickstarter

Video Games Live leveled up as their kickstater goal was reached! Their goal was to hit $250K in order to record their third album, Video Games Live Level 3. With days left, their goal was met and then some.

“I would like to thank all of our backers and those who could not financially back but socialized our cause. Thank you. And to every single person who has every attended Video Games Live performance, thank you. From the immortal lyrics from Portal, ‘This was a triumph. I’m making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS. It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction.’” – Tommy Tallarico

Now with the funds to produce the goods to our ears, Video Games Live Level 3 will consist of an orchestra with more than seventy-two pieces and more than sixty chairs. Level 3 will be a studio recording that will bring video game composers together for one goal in mind: bring the music to the masses.

Video Games Live wants to prove to the world that music in video games is an art form. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t played the game or that you don’t like video games, Video Games Live is here to bring you music like never before. With Level 3, Tommy Tallarico and his team will be putting together a fifteen to eighteen set track list featuring games from Monkey Island, Destiny, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Metal Gear Solid, Street Fighter II, Megaman, Soul Calibur and many more. Level 3 should be available around February of next year.

While at PAX Prime this year, we got a chance to talk to Tommy Tallarico, who helped put Video Games Live together, along with Jack Wall.
