Shadow’s Kiss Revives Vampire MMOs

Shadow's Kiss

There are various online MMOS, but not many like Shadow’s Kiss. This massive multiplayer game isn’t your typical MMO. Normally, we get the usual humans, elves or dwarves, but this time players are vampires. Let’s dive in a little deeper on what this upcoming MMO is all about!

Shadow’s Kiss is developed by Clockwork Throne Inc., a small indie company from Austin, Texas. The development of the game started in May 2015 from design notes throughout the years by avid gamer and founder Thomas Sitch. The inspiration of this MMO came from games such as Crowfall and Shadowbane, and non-WOW games such as City of Heroes and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Unfortunately, there aren’t many games in this genre, but Clockwork Throne is in hopes to change that. Players would take rolls of vampires in what they like to call a “modern, gothic Game of Thrones.”

Shadow’s Kiss Gameplay

After undergoing character creation, players start their base of operations in their lair. This is where the fun begins. As you typically see in movies, you would set off lurking in the night in hopes to finding your prey. You must go about and obtain allies (vampires) or gain dominance on the humans (thralls). As players explore this great darkened world, just like any other MMO, you are able to go on quests. The various things that players can do is that you can gain magical powers, beat undead foes and search for missing artifacts. If that isn’t enough for you, determined players can group up together to control the human world as well as build museums, nightclubs, penthouses and build your own lairs. The game is also using the Unity 5 engine for its front end and a proprietary MMO engine for its online servers.

As of right now, Shadow’s Kiss needs your help! The multiplayer game is currently in a pre-alpha stage. The Kickstarter went live around Halloween to help build funds to progress in their development. If this is a game you would like to play, definitely support this vampire MMO. It’s not everyday you can find a game where you can roleplay as one!
