See WayForward's New Adventure Time, Regular Show Games

One of the biggest surprises last year was WayForward’s fantastic DS/3DS exclusive, excessively titled tribute to Zelda II, Adventure Time: Hey Ice King, Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?. They’re back with two new games, and now we can see what fans have to look forward to. The first is WayForward’s follow-up to the aforementioned and successful 3DS original, and will be equally nonsensical in title. Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don’t Know! will come to not only 3DS, but also PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. This time the team forgoes the 2D style of the first game in favor of a 3D dungeon crawler, similar to 3D Dot Game Heroes. There also appears to be 4-player cooperative play, calling back to another of Nintendo’s less remembered adventures, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. Check out the trailer below.

For the first time, Regular Show is getting its own retail release, also developed by WayForward. For those unfamiliar with show creator JG Quintel’s love letter to ’80s and ’90s culture, Regular Show is sort of a Kevin Smith movie meets The Twilight Zone. Slackers Mordecai and Rigby find themselves in bizarre, supernatural circumstances while trying to keep their jobs at the local park. The show is full of reverence to days gone by, with episodes dedicated to Laserdiscs, 1989’s The Wizard, and even The Terminator. As for what the game will parody, which releases exclusively for 3DS,  it’s anyone’s guess at this point.

Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don’t Know! and Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby In 8-Bit Land release this Autumn.
