2112 is a title being released by Emobi games, and is classified as a tactical RTS MMO. The MMO scene has only grown over the last decade, and we’re finally seeing studios really branch out and take this genre in new directions.
2112 is going to be treading in new waters, and time will tell how successful this very early crack at extending the MMO platform in to the world of RTS games. A statement by the studio below:
Vietnam continues its video game development expansion, creating games that speak to people in markets other than their own. Over the past year or two we have seen a dramatic increase in games coming Westward from Vietnamese developers. In that time, Emobi Games has emerged as one of the country’s leading developers. The fine folks at Emobi Games would like to introduce you to 2112 which is their second game and has a tentative Dec 21, 2012 launch date. 2112 is an intergalactic MMO for the PC. There is a press release below my signature that provides more details about the free-to-play MMO, but I have pulled out a few for your quick glance.

– 2112 will be a free-to-play MMO for the PC.
o Combines RTS with base defense gameplay.
– Storyline: Set 100 years in the future, human space travel is made possible by the discovery of a new power source called Herani.
o Herani is so powerful that it attracts the attention of alien races and an intergalactic war between human and two alien civilizations erupts.
o Players get their war on as one of three races.
– Additional Features: Emobi Games has set a goal of creating a ridiculously deep Campaign and Quest system that will work to create long lasting wars and provide many strategy options found in PvP modes.
