Katerina has been a part of The Game Fanatics for almost two years.  After starting her own gaming blog, she teamed up with The Game Fanatics as a contributor to provide fresh and original content, attend and cover events, and help build The Game Fanatics community.  When Katerina is offline, she’s a normal college student, who works full-time, makes music, and enjoys traveling.  Being an avid lover of all things PlayStation, Katerina can be found under “idkmybffkae” on the PlayStation Network.  Always willing to meet new people and game with others, feel free to follow/add Katerina on Twitter, Tumblr, and the PlayStation Network!

1.  How long have you been with TGF ?

I’ve been with The Game Fanatics for probably… a year and a half to two years.  I had the pleasure of meeting Charles via Tumblr after I started F#$! YEAH UNCHARTED (which was in July of 2010), and after a few short months my opportunity to join TGF presented itself.

2. Background: Where are you from, married, kids, work?

I am from Maryland, “born and raised”; I’m young in both age and heart so I’m not married (nowhere near it, really), and I don’t have any kids though I definitely foresee some in my future.  I currently work at The University of Maryland Medical Center as a “Healthcare Data Specialist” for the General OR.

3. Gaming Background: Preferred game system to game on. Favorite game or top 5 games of all time.

I’ve always been a Sony/PlayStation person; of course I played the first Nintendo, SEGA Genesis, and I had a Game Gear, but PlayStation was always my choice console.  I’d have to say that my favorite games/series would be Final Fantasy VII, the Uncharted series, Kingdom Hearts 1&2, the Resistance series, and if we’re going old school, I’d have to say Crash Bandicoot 1&2.

4. Do you have goals that tie in with being a part of TGF and/or the gaming community?

I love social media, and my ultimate goal is be the community manager for a gaming company.  I think TGF gives me the experiences I need to learn and be able to fulfill this goal in the future.  I’d love to stay associated with The Game Fanatics in some way though!

5. Which games are you currently playing and what do you think makes a great game? Or which games are you most looking forward to this year?

Currently, I’m big into the Black Ops 2 multiplayer; I know, I know what you’re thinking, and trust me, I’ve never been big into COD multiplayer but it keeps me busy.  I’m really obsessed with Black Ops: Declassified for the PS VITA; the Hostiles/Survival mode keeps me busy and it’s so much fun.  I also just recently completed Dishonored which was surprisingly great, and I play Uncharted whenever I feel like it!

I believe a good story makes a game great; an original, unique, creative story really keeps the player interested.  Graphics and mechanics are important (obviously) but I know that when I play a game, I want a story and something that keeps me on my toes.

When it comes to 2013, I’m mostly looking forward to The Last of Us (of course), Beyond Two Souls, and maybe some Uncharted 4 news? Possibly?  Hey, a girl can dream!  I’d also love to get my hands on Bioshock: Infinite, and Tomb Raider.  2013 seems like it’s going to be a good year for new games, so hopefully all of these titles live up to our expectations!
