Introducing Sony Entertainment Network

Beginning today, Sony will be updating a lot of things in the PlayStation Network, including the introduction of Sony Entertainment Network. Some other changes being made are your funds being transferred from Sony Entertainment America to Sony Network Entertainment International LLC. If I didn’t know any better, I would guess that this is in response to the hacks back in April.

The first time you sign into your PlayStation Network account, you will be asked to accept new terms of service and a new privacy policy. The new terms (that you probably will skip through and click “accept”) state that you must give up all rights to participate in any new class action lawsuits against Sony, and that you will resolve matters on an individual basis.

As for the new Sony Entertainment Network, this service will allow you to play your favorite music, movies, games and more on your PlayStation systems and across a variety of connected devices.

Sony has reiterated that all of the services on PlayStation devices will be unchanged and that there will be no changes to prices or functionality.
