If you own a Nintendo 3DS, you’ve probably enjoyed it throughout this year, whether you’re busy with the surprise hit Theatrythmn or currently using it to train your Pokemon. But next year, you’ll get some goodies to play with.
While Nintendo’s E3 showing for the 3DS was pretty weak, they’ve been comfortable using their own stage to announce details and trailers for upcoming titles. Four of the most anticipated are Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Luigi’s Mansion 2, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Paper Mario: Sticker Star. During an online press conference, new trailers were unveiled for these four games. So let’s take a closer look at what we’ll be playing on our Nintendo 3DS next year.
Fire Emblem: Awakening

Perhaps no title generated more excitement with its stateside release announcement than Fire Emblem, the popular tactical turned based JRPG strategy title. Awakening will follow the story of Chrom, prince of the Holy Kingdoms. Casually mentioned during the press conference was the fact that when characters die, they’re dead for good. Let’s hope we don’t get too attached to these guys, something that’s probably hard to do in a game with such an emphasis on story.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Details for the latest Animal Crossing are still, sadly, scarce, but here’s what we do know. Customization will have a large role in the title, allowing you to design your living space to your hearts desire. In addition, you get to become mayor of your town, meaning you’ll finally arrest Tom Nook for his crimes against the village. Or something like that…
Paper Mario: Sticker Star

You didn’t think Mario would have some time off, did you? Nintendo’s famed mascot is returning to the realm of paper. This time around, Bowser has scattered six Royal Stickers across the world. But don’t think that’s all stickers will be used for; they’ll be found as you progress the game and used as inventory. You can discover them or purchase them with coins you collect. Mario’s just gone crazy for stickers.
Luigi’s Mansion 2

Luigi’s back. The mansion is back. The ghosts are back. Better bring a bigger vacuum and a strobe light. Luigi’s Mansion 2 will featured new stages, tougher enemies, and new tools at your disposal to collect ghosts.
All four of these titles will be available next year.
