Yarn Yoshi Amiibo will be invading America soon enough and bringing along some family and friends for the adventure.
During their data and date drop today, Nintendo revealed that the associated Amiibo to the upcoming Yoshi’s Woolly World will be coming after the game releases in America and have various sizes. The Mega Yarn Yoshi is shown to be about three times the size of the others while retaining their functionality as Amiibo in game. All of these Yarn Yoshi Amiibo will be released on November 15 in the States and November 27 in Europe.
Only a few days before this yarn-filled occasion, Yoshi’s best friend Mewtwo will finally grab his own version of Amiibo glory. He’s been in line for a wide release since his debut as Super Smash Bros’ first DLC character way back in March, and will have the same functionality as all other Smash Bros figurines. Mewtwo will hit shelves on November 13 in the States whereas Europe can grab him a few weeks earlier on October 23.
As basic attachments for the heart-warming-to-the-point-of-overheating game of this year, Yoshi’s Woolly World, these Yarn Yoshi Amiibo will unlock a co-op mode as well as save your specific little dinosaur’s customization data. A bunch of other Amiibo will unlock yarn-based skins for your Yoshi to inhabit with examples ranging from Mario to Ganondorf and Splatoon Girl.
This woolly adventure has already been out in Europe for months, selling not so well during that headstart. With the arrival of the Yarn Yoshi Amiibo, not to mention a release outside of Europe, Nintendo is hoping that the shelf and demo appeal of this kind of visual title brings out further sales in software and figurines. For those that pay attention to that sort of thing, Yoshi’s Woolly World is trending at about a 77 average across reviewers.
Yoshi’s Woolly World is available now for Europe and will hit the Nintendo Wii U on October 16 in America.
