Embraced by a halo of surprise comes Microsoft latest “announcement” (which, for the time being, is just a video on Xbox’s Facebook page). Game Pass, their newest subscription service, is coming earlier than expected, on June 1. Xbox Live Gold subscribers get in early, with their trials starting today.
In the Facebook video you can see actor Danny McBride advertising the service. The whole thing is rather short, and it does not offer that much of an insight, but it sets the tone.
Game Pass in a Nutshell
While we already knew of Microsoft’s plans for this service, we were missing a release date. Now we have just one more week before we can start browsing the library. As a reminder, the subscription service applies to the Xbox platform only and gives players unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and backward compatible Xbox 360 games. A list which, we presume, will continue expanding.
The service runes $9.99 per month. On top of that, Game Pass is launching with a 14 day free trial for everyone, so you can always test the thrills of this service for yourself.
Microsoft confirmed the full list of games on their website, including Mad Max, Halo 5, Saints Row 4, Gears of War, and more. All in all, seems like a solid service for the price, so we are definitely interested in knowing more. We will update you guys as more news come in!
