Coming off the hedges of a reworked release date announcement, the publishers at 2K have come out with a new trailer for WWE2K15, one that shows off WWE wrestlers dishing out the hurt in true, next-gen form. Here comes the pain!
As the the top dog in releasing high-ended sports games—the NBA2K series especially—2K and the developers at Yukes and Visual Concepts have been hard at work composing another wrestling game that goes above and beyond last year’s WWE2K14.
John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Brock Lesnar, Rusev, Goldust, Daniel Bryan and plenty of other fan favorites are shown making their way toward the squared circle and fighting it out. Backed by background music from Kid Rock, most of the action you see in the trailer gently showcases the graphical capabilities of the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 while demonstrating signature moves from the pro wrestlers of today’s generation.
WWE2K15 is expected to have two separate single-player experiences; the MyCareer mode where a players created character can go through the grind of an up-and-coming wrestler to a WWE Superstar and 2K Showcase, a mini-career mode that follows the journey of two long-time wrestlers of our days past and the rivalry that they’ve built with each other. There has been no word yet from 2K regarding the exact names of the two wrestlers.
Fans of the old WCW will get a chance to play as Sting, anti-hero who fought against the ravaging New World Order back in the 90’s and the master of the Scorpion Death Drop. All they have to do is preorder.
With the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 release date pushed back, WWE2K 15 will release for two separate dates instead of one altogether. If you’re looking to get your hands on the games for the aforementioned consoles, Nov. 18 is your chaining day. However, if you’re still on the last gen side of things, WWE2K15 pildrives its way to the Xbox 360 or PS3 on Oct. 28.
While you’re waiting for those dates—we’re on the November side of things—you can check out the gameplay trailer released by 2K Games below.
