The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine Confirmed for a May Release

The long months of rumors and speculations have come to end – CD Projekt Red has finally announced a release date for Blood and Wine and it’s coming May 31st.

With a short teaser trailer, we know just about everything we need to before the full launch trailer arrives in the coming weeks. Geralt is venturing off to a colorful, almost fairy tale-like country where the wine oozes into every open street in the grand city of Toussaint. But that’s not all that awaits the famed Witcher is this region. Evil lurks throughout and it bares its fangs at night.

“Blood and Wine makes The Witcher 3 complete — it’s Geralt’s final mission,” says Kondrad Tomaszkiewicz, Game Director at CD Project RED. “Containing more than 90 new quests, and over thirty hours of brand new adventures, it’s something that I think gamers will remember for a long time.”

Toussaint, a land untouched by the Nilfgaardian war.

“There’s also a massive amount of features we’re giving gamers with this expansion like a dynamic Point of Interest system, a new Gwent deck, new endgame mutation mechanics, and even a place Geralt can call home…. And it’s all happening in a new region as big as No Man’s Land in the base game.”

Between the new gameplay mechanics, the ability to own your very own vineyard, all new equipment items and skills, and a twisted, emotional narrative to explore, Blood and Wine is shaping up to be an expansion that truly rivals most Triple-A titles coming out this year. It’s Geralt’s swansong, and CDPR is showing no interest in slowing down when it comes to delivering quality experiences for their fans.
