Watch: Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure Coming To Consoles

Video game publisher Merge Games has announced it will publish developer Prospect Games’ new physics based platformer this summer. Titled Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure. the game will be available on July 26th for PS4 and Xbox One. Nintendo Switch owners can also expect the game as it’s currently set for a Q4 2017 release. PC players can already pick up Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure via Steam.

Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure features a cardboard box named Newbie as the game’s protagonist. As the box, players are required to bounce and roll around a plethora of 3D worlds filled with different terrains: mountains, islands; just to name a few.

Through the game’s story driven adventure mode, the titular character will tackle a wide variety of missions and challenges. As with any platformer, expect some resistance from the evil Wild Cards. Successfully completing challenges, which reward players with various rewards, will allow Newbie to topple the opposition.

Thankfully, Newbie will make a bevvy a new friends throughout his adventure to make things a bit more reassuring. Additionally, completionists will have a field day with this one as they’ll need to explore every nook and cranny in order to find collectibles and uncover well hidden super-secrets.

Prospect Games promises a few interesting game modes in order to make the fun last. Besides the single-player adventure mode, Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure includes classic split-screen with up to four players that will challenge one another to races and last-man-standing battles. Players will also be able to add their own twist to the game thanks to customizable Tournament played on dedicated multiplayer maps.
