Watch the “Party Up” Music Video – BlackKrystel’s Newest Single!

BlackKrystel - Party Up

We’ve reached a weird point in the timeline where nerds are being viewed as the attractive group. It’s the internet’s best kept secret and we find the public referring to nerds as hot and as a kid that grew up in the 90s, this is a wild shift in the social spectrum or on the dating totem pole (we’re finally at the bottom). However, some of us still find it hard to find our geek counterparts in the world we live in. And dating another nerd doesn’t automatically take care of that either. The community is so large and diverse that finding someone who is compatible with you is still quite the task. Which is the inspiration behind The Game Fanatics very own @BlackKrystel‘s debut single, “Party Up“.

The song captures the struggle in the dating scene for nerds and just how different we all are in our eclectic interests. Finding someone that fits with us can be a struggle considering how hard some of us find it to fit into society in general. After talking to Gabie, the thing that stood out for me was that she realized that she needed to “embrace being the nerd that she is” which is an important lesson for all of us to learn. The people that will fit perfectly into your mold will come when you have that sureness in who you are and who you want to be. So this song is her telling her story of looking for someone that she can “party up” with in the games that she loves and even more in real life and the lyrics should hit home for the many of us that are gamers out there.

“It’s important for my music to reflect me and come from my world – so I’m excited I have this opportunity to finally live out a dream of mine.”

@BlackKrystel

This isn’t BK’s first foray into the music world. Though she’s more popularly associated with gaming and cosplay, she’s been in musical theater most of her life and plays both the piano and guitar. The song has been released through the group, Lost Rings, a collective of female gamers who create original music and content for gaming culture under the Columbia Records label. The video is expertly done with quality direction and precise editing and the song’s catchy tune is still stuck in my head as I type this. It’s an automatic hit and we should be excited to see what’s next for the future star. Until then party up with her on Xbox Live so she can carry you and the rest of your teammates.
