Watch: Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition Launch Trailer

Gearbox released a new launch trailer for Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition ahead of its April 7 release.

The remaster is being developed by People Can Fly who developed the 2011 original. The game’s defining feature is the Skill Shot system. Players are scored based on originality and variety when dispatching enemies. The scoring encourages the player to use all their tools as well as the environment to find elaborate and unique ways to handle foes.

In addition to bringing the game to a new audience, the remaster will also improve performance. The remaster will feature “updated hi-res textures, increased polygon counts, sterling audio, smoother framerates, and running in up to 4K resolution on PC and PS4 Pro,” according to a press release. The remaster will include all previously released content for the game. A new campaign will be available after finishing the game. The Overkill campaign mode will let players enjoy the campaign with “an unrestricted arsenal of weapons and Skillshots,” said Gearbox.

In addition to the updated visuals and new campaign features, pre-ordering the game also unlocks a new playable character. Duke Nukem will be available to those who pre-order as part of Duke Nukem’s Bulletstorm Tour. The campaign is more than just a reskin of the main character. Original Duke Nukem voice actor Jon St. John has recorded new voiceover work for the game.

Developed by People Can Fly and released in 2011, Bulletstorm was a critical success. Unfortunately, the game didn’t deliver on sales expectations and a planned sequel was cancelled. Originally published by EA, People Can Fly retained the rights to the game when they split from Epic Games in 2015. Keeping the rights allowed them to team with Gearbox for the remaster. Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
