Video Games as Art & Therapy With Overwatch’s Anjali Bhimani – TGF Podcast Ep 011

The Game Fanatics Podcast returns from hiatus with a candid conversation and intimate chat with Anjali Bhimani, voice of Symmetra in Overwatch and Nisha in Falloujt 4: Nuka-World.

We began our conversation  chatting about Anjali’s history with video games starting with her love for D&D, Baldur’s Gate, etc, and how she’s always been fascinated by the idea of having a role in the making of video games. We also talk about her culture and upbringing, and how they both have shaped her acting career.

With her wealth of experience in theater, television, as well as movies, she began auditioning for roles in video games and landed those of Symmetra in Overwatch and Nisha in Fallout 4: Nuka-World.

We also talk about the Importance of inclusion in video games and entertainment as a whole – and why the diversity found in Overwatch made the project really special to her. Anjali also tells us some of her favorite Overwatch characters, and a bit about her experience working with Blizzard and the rest of the Overwatch cast and crew.

Her second role in gaming was that of a villain – Fallout 4: Nuka-World’s Nisha, a stark contrast from her role in Overwatch.

Overall, we have a great discussion about the artistic fulfillment found in video games, which transcends normal lives and provides a certain level of catharsis.

Hope you enjoy the show!
