Verizon’s Prometheus Mission Connect is an interactive game in which you utilizes a Verizon Android and the Verizon Smart Home Service application (app) to take a glimpse inside the Prometheus ship by exploring, controlling and unlocking its’ rooms. While in London you and a guest will go on a tour of the studio’s where Prometheus was filmed.  Other weekly sweepstakes you get entered for include; a trip for two to tour Fox Studios in LA and dinner ($200 gift card) and a movie for four, June 8th for the Prometheus premier.

It’s easy to just go to www.verizon.com/mission to start your adventure.

When you go to this site you also find out that Verizon Smart Home Service app is not only a component of the game but is conveniently real. Angie Klien Verizon’s product development vice president states it best:

[box_light]”Like those intrepid explorers in the movie who stay connected to Prometheus via technology no matter how far in space they are, Verizon Home Monitoring and Control allows consumers to manage their home from anywhere by viewing live camera streaming, turning on lights, changing the temperature or controlling door locks,” said Angie Klein, vice president for product development for Verizon. “And Verizon’s virtual game offers sneak peeks at the movie and gives those who can’t wait for the June 8 premiere a chance to win some great prizes.”[/box_light]

Verizon’s Home Monitoring System app does offer effortless remote access for it’s customers to, control and monitor doors, thermostats and appliances as well as viewing home-energy use- all with smart phone, PC, FiOS TV and, soon, tablets technologies. However, the thought of Verizon being part of my home monitoring system is just too Orwellian for me. To each their own, though; I am sure many will enjoy this app.

Regardless you should go play around with Prometheus Mission Connect it is an informative game that gives you chances to win free stuff and get some exclusive movie content.

Here’s a Prometheus teaser trailer:
