Remember when we first brought you news about Vanquish? Remember it being dubbed as a Quantum Theory clone, which was dubbed as a Gears clone. Let’s not forget how it was also compared to Halo.
Well we’ve officially moved past the teaser trailer stage for Vanquish. Sega has sent out the first gameplay footage of the futuristic third-person shooter.
Yes, it’s a bunch of dudes in power armor ducking behind cover and that’s nothing new. We get brief glimpses of how the game will try to set itself apart, though. At different points in the trailer we see the player zipping around on a jetpack, jump-kicking some poor enemy, and battling a massive robot boss.
Vanquish is being developed for the PS3 and Xbox 360 by Platinum Games. Its director is Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series.
