Unlocked Xperia arc S and Xperia neo V now available in U.S.

Sony has just released some good news for those that live stateside, and were anticipating the release of the Xperia arc S or the Xperia neo V. Both phones will be hitting our shores sometime soon. However, these phones wont be releasing here with a specific carrier meaning you’ll be able to purchase both phones unlocked from Sony’s store. As of now there is no information on whether you will be able to pick up these phones for a subsidized price in the future.

What we care about is the guts of the phone, and what do the specs look like so lets start with the  Xperia arc S. This device will retail for $549.99 unlocked, and if you pick up this phone you can expect it to be rocking a 1.4 GHz processor under the hood along with a 4.2” Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, 3D and 2D sweep panorama photography, an 8.1MP camera and it will be running Android’s Gingerbread 2.3.4. If you are someone who wants a colorful phone I am proud to report that you can pick this baby up in the following colors Pure White, Gloss Black, Midnight Blue, and Misty Silver.

Now lets move on to the Xperia neo V. This is the cheaper of the two phones and it looks to compete in the low to mid android phone market. It will retail for  $349.99 unlocked, and will feature a 3.7” display, a 5MP camera with 16x digital zoom, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, and it too will be running Android’s Gingerbread 2.3.4. It will also come in a wide variety of colors including Pearl White, Silver, and Blue Gradient. If you are unable to get to a Sony Store or don’t have one around you well there is good news. Starting in early December, each phone will be available for purchase through other retail partners including Newegg.com and presumably Amazon.com.
