The word around the block is that the next installment of the Uncharted series could be coming out with the PlayStation 4.
I wouldn’t find that surprising, considering that the development cycle of the Uncharted series has a turn around of two years or so. Since the next generation of consoles is probably set to launch sometime in 2013 or 2014, it wouldn’t be surprising that Sony would want one of its best selling exclusives to be available for its new console in order to draw buyers.
Let’s also not forget that the development time for the next Uncharted if it does hit on the next console may take a little time. According to Naughty Dog co-president Christophe Balestra, the company’s transition from the PS2 to the PS3 hit a bit of a rough patch. It’s not unexpected that the same thing could happen again on the PS4.
