Trion Worlds has announced that a new Vice President of Development and Executive Producer has been chosen to lead for their upcoming game, Defiance.
Nathan Richardsson will be taking the chair as the Executive Producer for Defiance. Nathan was formally part of CCP Games and is a veteran in the online gaming industry Which makes this an absolutely brilliant decision. He has worked on top massive online games such as EVE Online, World of Darkness and the also upcoming Dust 514.
“Nathan comes to us with an established legacy of success in the online gaming space,” said Nick Beliaeff, Trion’s SVP of Development. “In terms of ambition and scope, Defiance is unlike any other entertainment undertaking currently in development. Nathan’s excellent experience and dedication to launching, maintaining and growing innovative online games makes him the perfect person to helm this unprecedented project.”
Richardsson will be responsible for the leading collaboration between Trion and Syfy while the Defiance game works in progression of both the game and TV series. As you may or may not know, Defiance is the first of its kind where a MMO game and a television program will work with each other to unravel a much bigger story and experience. It will be a third person shooter with many MMO elements being incorporated. Because they exist in a single universe, the show and the game will influence each other and evolve together over time, with actions in both mediums driving the overall story of Defiance.
