It would seem that all major video game developers would do anything they can to be at E3 and have a booth to showcase their latest games to hungry gamers. Not for THQ this year though.
A THQ spokesperson said this about the decision:
“We’re not producing a booth, but we will be participating in E3. We will be showing games to the E3 judges at their event coming up, and we’ll be hosting a press and business center at the show for meetings (as well as participating with first party activities). When we needed to make the decision on the booth (many months ago) we were in a MUCH different place than today. But, we will be there to support our portfolio and the show itself.”
Given THQ’s financial situation right now we can accept their decision this year. Cuts have to be made and those booths at E3 can be pretty spendy when all is done. Yet we will see their games in full force as they still plan on showing it all off to the panel of judges. So don’t count THQ out just yet!
