I’ve spent plenty of time and quarters on games like Pac-Man and Tetris which really did pave the way for casual games. You know those simple games that we shouldn’t invest a lot of time in but we do.
For me, games like these are time killers, whereas I will play them if I only have a few minutes before I have to go somewhere or that causal game to keep me busy until a heavy hitter game drops.
Most casual games get boring for me and after awhile I won’t play them anymore. However the classic casual games like those two mentioned at the start of this article, I always find myself playing every now and then.
Even the casual games on Facebook, I find myself loosing interest after a while. For me, I don’t see a point.
I couldn’t understand the obsession with Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook until I played it for 360. Usually five to ten minutes before leaving for work, I will start up a mini gaming session of Bejeweled Blitz. Granted, this is a newer game and in time I might tire of it but for right now, it tops my favorite casual game list. Having to complete with my friends each week for the highest score is a huge plus as well.
Ask me this same question twenty-odd some years ago and I would have told you Ms. Pac-Man.
