Those of you with Portal 2 on PC are about to be challenged to take the difficulty of this logic game to another level. There is now a mod, named Thinking with Time Machine, that can be added to the game; allowing the player to record movements and play the footage, of the time loops, to solve puzzles. In other words, a time machine.
The new mod takes place after Chell escapes the facility, and a crow flies into and breaks the illusion of the sky above. Chell is given some sort of tablet which allows her to make recordings of herself in order to open doors for her future self or even pass cubes from timeline to timeline. The difficulty that Portal 2 exhibits is enough for a lot of people, but the ‘co-op’ play with yourself adds another dimension outside of figuring out where portals and cubes belong in order to open a door.
If you think you’re up to the challenge, Thinking with Time Machine for Portal 2 is available on Steam. However, you do need to have Portal 2 already on your computer.
Here is the trailer released for the new mod so you can get a feel for how the new time machine works.
