The PSP 2 is go!

The game industry let out a collective sigh of relief at approximately 1 AM EST this morning as the long awaited PSP 2 was unveiled at Sony’s Announcement conference. The PSP 2, code named NGP for “next generation portable”  is set for release by the end of 2011, and though pricing information was not provided a lot of things we requested for were! For starters this is the first PSP with dual analogs, a multi-touch screens, front and rear facing cameras, and a quad, QUAD,  core ARM Cortex-A9 processor. Games

Sony showed off a few games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Lost Planet 2, Yakuza, and a demo of the Unreal 3 Engine at the conference. They also took us on a tour of the new interface system, dubbed LiveArea, which is a one-stop shop to access trophies, message boards like  Other games mentioned in development for the NGP:
