The NBA 2K League is one of the hottest topics in both the E-Sports and Basketball communities. Since its inception in 2017, the league has increased team participation from 17 NBA sponsored teams to 23 (22 NBA affiliates and 1 from Gen.G Esports). Interestingly enough, the league’s ownership is split 50-50 between Take-Two Interactive and the NBA, therefore, this isn’t just your average E-Sports association.
On February 23rd the league had its 3rd draft and first with brand new teams such as Hornets Venom GT and Gen. G Tigers of Shanghai. At the conclusion of each round, NBA 2K League’s official Twitter posted the results, revealing the selections made in their entirety. Here are the results:
There were a total of 229 players available for the draft, with 147 of them being drafted to official 2K league teams. The number one draft pick came to no ones’ surprise with Wizards District Gaming selecting Jack “JBM” Mascone with their highly coveted pick.
