The King is Crowned – LeBron James on NBA 2K14 Cover

Some would say it’s a long time coming, and the world’s best basketball player is finally getting his dues. We’d like to think that this is perfect timing, with James never being on the cover of a video game, ever, this just feels right.

So what do we know about NBA 2K14 so far? It comes our October 1st on all current platforms, no release date has yet been pinned for the PS4 and Xbox One.

More details will be unveiled at E3, but we already know of a new game mode – Path to Greatness, which LeBron James will have something to do with. There’ll also be  be a King James Bonus Pack for those who pre-order the game, which includes  10,000 VC, extra content in the new Path to Greatness mode, LeBron unlocked automatically in Blacktop mode, and an all-new signature move, of who else? King James.

Here’s the official announcement trailer:

If you know one thing about me, I’m a HUGE 2K fan, so I’m looking forward to the promised changes in NBA 2K14. And as odd as it may sound, I’m looking forward to EA Sports to step back into the ring, breathing innovation into the basketball simulation genre.
