Bandai Namco has confirmed this morning that Tekken 7 will launch on current-gen video game consoles and PC in Early June 2017, with a load of new characters and features not available in it’s arcade iterations.
When Tekken 7 releases on June 2nd, 2017, it will launch with three different game bundles in North America. First is the “Standard” Edition ($59.99), which includes the full Tekken 7 game, with a more fleshed out “Day One” edition ($59.99) offering the DLC fighter Eliza (which is also available to pre-orders).
Along with Eliza, The Day One Edition will also ship with a few, console specific exclusives: the Xbox One edition will include a full game download redeem token for Tekken 6, which is backwards compatible with Xbox One AND Xbox 360, while the PS4 edition will pack exclusive content in a “jukebox mode” where fans can listen and create playlists of classic Tekken music and theme songs. Also included in the PS4 edition are “legacy” Tekken 2 & 4 costumes for King, Xiaoyu and Jin.
The Collector’s Editions of Tekken 7 ($149.00) includes a copy of the full Day One Edition of the game (mentioned console exclusives included) in a collector’s box, with a steel book case along with the original soundtrack and a 12” x 18” figure of Heihachi and Kazuya battling in epic fashion. The Collector’s Edition is currently available for pre-order exclusively at the official Bandai Namco store at the moment.
A Digital Deluxe Edition has also been officially confirmed, which contains the full game and the season pass. The Tekken 7 season pass includes three separate content packs which will include new playable characters, stages, a new game mode and additional costumes packs. The season pass will also include the exclusive metallic costume pack, which grants over 25 different pieces of attire. An exclusive PS4 Theme is also included.
Namco recently commented on the release date announcement, stating “Tekken 7 for home consoles and PCs represents the culmination of the highest levels of fighting game development, even surpassing it’s arcade counterpart by offering additional balance & fine tuning, inclusion of a dramatic story mode, more characters & the implementation of online tournament modes that are sure to ignite the fighting spirit among gamers around the world. ”
