Maybe people saw this coming. Still, I’m glad it’s been confirmed: Tales of Xillia 2 will see a western release
Recently having announced a western release of Tales of Xillia, Hideo Baba, producer for the Tales of series for Namco Bandai Games Studios, released a statement saying that Tales of Xillia 2 will also be coming to western audiences early next year.
In his words:The game’s story is set a year after the climactic end of Tales of Xillia and will revolve around Ludger Kresnik, a run-of-the-mill man who lives with his brother and cat, and Elle Marta, a young and dependable girl who Ludger meets by chance.
With an emphasis on “choice”, Tales of Xillia 2 has a branching story that players will be able to take in a myriad of different directions. This notion of choice extends beyond the narrative and into the gameplay as well. Players will be able to utilize a new Weapon Swap mechanic while in battle that allows them to switch between three main weapons: a sledgehammer, dual pistols, and dual blades in real-time during combat. This title will also retain the “linking system” that was a core combat feature in the first game.
Namco Bandai promises to have a lot more to talk about regarding Tales of Xillia 2 as the year continues, so get ready for more news on this PS3 exclusive in the near future.
