In a panel hosted by Nerdist, Telltale Games’ Kevin Bruner, Harrison Pink, and Job Stauffer took the stage to talk about life at Telltale as well as past and upcoming projects. One of said past projects the group talked about was the Poker Night franchise: Poker Night at the Inventory and Poker Night 2. Poker Night 2, if you remember, allowed gamers to unlock items in Borderlands 2 and Team Fortress 2, and offered a “test bed” for both Telltale Games and Gearbox Software to experiment with item unlocking between the two games.
Of course, neither of the panelists went into much detail about this in regards to Telltale Games’ upcoming episodic game, Tales From The Borderlands. In fact, they left us teetering with anticipation with the following response:
“Poker Night was a test bed for [cross-game unlockables], and who knows, we may see that in a certain upcoming game.”
We certainly hope to know soon, but with the mounting anticipation behind Tales From The Borderlands, we won’t be surprised if this holds to be true. We may know more later today at the Tales From The Borderlands panel, so be sure you’re following us on Twitter.
