Guardians of the Galaxy Launches With New Trailer

Guardians of the Galaxy Cast

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series launches today and received a new trailer to celebrate.

The trailer sheds light onto the game’s plot. It begins with the Nova Corps calling the Guardians to assist them against Thanos, the Mad Titan. Developer Telltale Games, best known for their The Walking Dead series, promises that player choice that will drive the story.

Tangled Up in Blue is the first episode of the series, available for download right now with a retail version coming May 2. The retail version of the game includes the season pass but only the first episode is on disc. Players will still need to download additional episodes as they become available.

Players on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Mac can download the game today while iOS and Android versions are coming later this week. In a press release Telltale said that “additional platforms for release are yet to be announced.” That could mean that a Nintendo Switch version may be on its way.

The game stars the titular heroes in an all new adventure. The game will take the heroes to both new and familiar locations. Telltale has promised that, like the film series, the game will be “set to the beat of awesome music.” In addition to the game, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters May 5. Director James Gunn recently said that there will be a third movie and he will return as director.

California based studio Telltale has a full schedule ahead of them. In addition to Guardians of the Galaxy, they are also currently in the middle of the third season of The Walking Dead. Finally, the studio is also working on Game of Thrones: Season Two. Telltale has also worked with other famous properties such as Batman, Borderlands, and Minecraft in the past.
