SWTOR: Knights of the Eternal Throne is Coming this Fall

SWTOR

SWTOR is celebrating its 5th birthday and a brand new expansion has been officially confirmed, Knights of the Eternal Throne. It’s arriving this fall already and promises to be one of the largest updates ever released.

It seems these are official Star Wars days! Along with the announcement of the Rogue One DLC for Battlefront and Amy Hennig’s hints at a new Star Wars game comes a brand new content update for the MMORPG Star Wars: the Old Republic. It goes by the name of Knights of the Eternal Throne and, Bioware says, it’s one of the largest updates the team has made since the 2011 launch. The announcement happened two days ago during an EA Star Wars™ “Meet the Makers” panel at Star Wars Celebration in London.

However, they have not delved into specific details just yet. We only know that we’ll have more cinematic storytelling scenes, new stories to follow, probably a bunch of new items to use and locations to explore. They have also mentioned something about “exciting new game features” although these remain yet undisclosed.

The studio also took the time to announce that all players can prepare by playing Chapter 1 of the prequel story in the game expansion Knights of the Fallen Empire. It comes completely free now and you can snatch it at www.swtor.com/fallen-empire/free-trial.

Celebrating Five Years of SWTOR

In order to nurture the hype even further, Bioware also released a celebration trailer. A retrospective that looks to the last 5 years and everything that has been accomplished so far. Moreover, they also published a curious infographic that shares some community numbers, statistics and curious feats. Did you know, for instance, that the game has already accumulated over 87 million characters? Or that it contains over 340 hours of voiced storytelling? You can check more interesting facts by clicking here.

If you do not want to lose any details about the upcoming expansion, you better stay tuned to the official website.
