Today, Supergiant Games announced a new game they’ve been working on, a science-fiction themed action RPG known as Transistor.
Transistor invites players to wield a weapon of unknown origins as they explore a stunning new futuristic city. In Transistor, players will take on the role of a young woman who gains control of a powerful weapon after a mysterious group of assailants nearly kills her with it. Now she must fight from across the streets against forces that will stop at nothing to recover what is in her hands. During the course of the adventure, players will piece together the Transistor’s mysteries as they pursue its former owners.
Supergiant Games is aiming for an early 2014 release, but haven’t given an exact date yet. Hopefully sooner than later! They also have not decided on which platform or platforms this game will be available for. Their first game, Bastion, came out over the XBL Arcade first and then swept across multiple platforms, even the Apple App Store.
For all fans of Bastion, I highly suggest looking into this once it comes out. For all of those heading to PAX East, Supergiant Games will be there at booth #892. Be sure to stop by and get a glimpse of their early build that’s playable. They know we all have questions for them, so be sure to keep an eye on their Twitter and Facebook for an FAQ that addresses them.
