SteelSeries Designed by Gamers Mouse Chosen

ATTENTION GAMERS: The SteelSeries gaming community have spoken!! The SteelSeries Designed by Gamers: Mouse campaign kicked off  back in April with a total of 8 different color design options, giving the fanbase a direct influence on the new look of the product. Within three weeks, the campaign resulted in more than 100,000 votes and the first-ever, community chosen gaming mouse design, which will be released in late 2011.

Our global gaming community is incredibly important to how we evolve as a peripheral maker. They have a lot of opinions and an important voice in helping define what we do. With nearly 300,000 followers on Facebook, we feel like we really have a strong and active community that we can engage in initiatives like this,” said Kim Rom, SteelSeries CMO. “The Designed by Gamers campaign was really an opportunity to continue our 10 year anniversary celebration; it was awesome so see such a large and positive response.

Looks like, the winning mouse design colors will be black, orange, and gray with an orange illuminated scroll wheel and a double-braided orange/black nylon cord. The rest of the features will be announced closer to product availability later this year. The campaign concluded with a total of 10 participant winners, who took home their chosen gaming kits, which included headsets, keyboards, mice, mousepads, and glasses, as well as one grand prize winner who took home a new Shuttle® H7 PC, provided by Shuttle® Computers.
