CES 2013 | SteelSeries Apex, Apex [Raw] Keyboards Announced

SteelSeries wasted no time kicking off CES 2013 with a look at what they’re calling the world’s fastest gaming keyboards: the SteelSeries Apex and Apex [RAW].SteelSeries’ new products, Apex and Apex [Raw], are certainly not lacking in style. The new keyboards feature unique enhancements to their layout, including low-profile keys, specially designed raised macros rows for quick access, and multiple layers of customization in colors and intensity that result in a very pretty product.

That doesn’t mean anything without performance, but SteelSeries is promising that their keyboards are the fastest in the world. They say it’s possible by the addition of two small tactile bumps on the W-key to provide a faster return to WASD, as well as anti-ghosting that supports simultaneous key presses, an enlarged space bar and added directional keys, a SteelSeries key that allows the user to easily adjust brightness and disable the Windows key with no software required, and swappable feet that allow the user to adjust the keyboard’s angle to what is most comfortable. That’s a lot of customization.

All of those obviously cool features come at a price: the Apex comes in at a price tag of $99.99, and the Apex [Raw] will cost $69.99 when both are released in the second quarter of 2013 (think around April or May).
