EA and the team at DICE have announced that their June expansion pack for Star Wars Battlefront will contain both Cloud City and Lando Calrissian.
Season pass holders will receive this Bespin expansion pack; it will include four new maps – all based in and around Cloud City – to be used in Battlefront’s most popular modes. In a statement on the official EA website, producer Craig Mcleod has said “You’ll see AT-ATs in Cloud City, take to the skies in Fighter Squadron, and even spend time in a carbonite chamber.”
On top of this news, which will already have the force-sensitive out there salivating, it has also been revealed that Lando Calrissian – the man you either love to hate or hate to love – will be making his Battlefront debut. His counterpart will be the slovenly but brutally effective bounty hunter Dengar.
This is exactly the kind of support that Battlefront should receive, season pass holder will likely be glad that they shelled out the extra cash, when the team at DICE have made it clear how committed they are to the universe and to the fans. Not only this, but Battlefront is the kind of game that suits DLC – or expansion packs as they were called once upon a time – having a solid arena-based framework that lends itself to having new maps and characters slotted in as time goes by.
Hopefully not too much time though; June is just around the corner and the expansion pack will be release ahead of as yet unannounced “cool activities” that EA have planned for Star Wars day on May 4th.
