The SSX series has always taken liberties with reality, allowing us to pull off gravity-defying Uber Tricks while controlling the most outlandish of characters. However, the game’s latest trailer opts for a spot of realism by introducing us to the series’ first ever real-life snowboarder: 28-year old Travis Rice. Both Rice’s real and virtual self appear in the trailer, which focuses on how players can survive the ever-dangerous backcountry slopes. Rice does a good job of selling how unpredictable and precarious it is to shred the backcountry in real-life, while the exhilarating in-game footage seems to echo his words.
