Looks like Sony is slimming a few margins but all for the best. With a new hardware update reportedly released for the Playstation 3, adding a improved, cheaper RSX graphics chip that should see the YLOD less likely and will use 15% less juice.
Sony is also looking to start seeing a profit being turned soon from the changes.
The 45nm version of the RSX chip is in place of the original 65nm chip. It apparently uses two 128Mb XDR RAM chips instead of four 64Mb versions.
