Sony has just announced a new addition to their Xperia line-up of phones. This new phone called Xperia sola looks to compete in the mid to high end range of android smartphones. It comes with a 3.7 inch 854×480 LCD Reality Display that will feature a new ‘floating touch’ interface. What makes the phone seem interesting is that it can sense your finger and track it kind of like a mouse. This allows for a lot of interesting features like highlighting a sentence without even touching the screen.
The Xperia Sola will ship with android 2.3, but you will be able to upgrade to 4.0 if you would like to that is once Sony actually releases an update. Even more evidence that this phone is only trying to compete in the mid range lineup is that it is only packing a 1 GHz dual core NovaThor processor (U8500) from ST-Ericsson. It also only comes with a 5mp camera, and is only capable of shooting video in 720p.
